3rd I-BNE Conference – Interdisciplinary Education for Sustainable Development – June 12 + 13, 2025 – Nuremberg
From June 12 to 13, 2025, the 3rd I-BNE Conference – Interdisciplinary Education for Sustainable Development – took place at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg. The aim of the conference was to highlight the potential and challenges of education for sustainable development using concrete practical examples. This time, the focus was on the interplay between interdisciplinarity and interculturality in university teaching.
Blue Engineering was represented with two contributions: First, the seminar concept and its implementation at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf and the Technical University of Berlin were presented. Second, the teaching/learning concept “Lenses” was presented, as used in the Berlin Blue Science Seminar to promote reflective and transdisciplinary skills.
The conference was aimed at teachers, students, and didactics experts from all disciplines and invited participants to further explore the relationship between interdisciplinarity and interculturality in ESD—understood both as cross-disciplinary and cross-university collaboration and as national and international cooperation with diverse partners from the field of sustainable education.
